At home with the baby!

That bump on my head certainly gave Pip the excuse she needed to say I needed to stay at home and rest for a while. Little did I know that she was planning to escape to Paris for a two day 'Girls only' break away. By all these photos it looks like they all had a great time away. Shirley, Kay, Sandie, Chris and Curly had obviously been planning this for a while!!!! Curly and Pip always enjoy a good chat and waiting to get on the Euro Star gave them plenty of opportunity. It looks like that train goes pretty fast at times.
The bikes waiting outside the Gare du Nord did not appeal to the rest of the girls but Pip was willing to give them a go.
Pip said these cheeses looked really yummy, however, she did not buy me any.
She was obviously more interested in riding on the plane.
Food and wine definitely seem to have been a high priority for the girls.
Pip told me this was a bottle of water, I am not sure I believe her.

Curly's drink looks like it has lots of green stuff in it!
Now I am beginning to wonder just how well behaved those girls were.
No surprises that shopping also features on this break away.

Next stop was the Eiffel Tower.
Shirley was obviously getting quite arty with her camera.
These two can chat anywhere!
From this video clip it is looks like even the Eiffel Tower can not resist a bit of bling.
I bet everyone was ready for bed after packing so much in to one day.
Looks like another busy day ahead.
OMG what were they doing in the police station!!!!

That's better, back to a bit of culture at the Center George Pompidou.
Curly obviously did not want to get a cold bottom.
Thank goodness Pip did not fall in , I do not think she can swim.
Looks like she is having a bit of a sulk here.....bet the others did not want to share their hot chocolate and crepes.
Oh back to shopping again.....that is rather a BIG Christmas tree at The Galleries Lafayette.

Even lots of Hedgie's in the window display.
Time for another glass or two by the looks of things!
Empty glasses as usual.
Now I am not too happy about the way that waiter is smiling.
At least Pip seems to have behaved herself on the train back to England
Maybe Colin and I should get together and arrange a boys break away!

Nursing a headache.

I expect you have been wondering where I have been for the past few weeks. Well it has been a bit of a roller coaster ride one way and another. The last time I posted here I was about to start my new job wasn’t I? I had always dreamt of being an Airline pilot so I was really excited when I went for my first day of the training. However, I was I for a big disappointment they told me my legs were too short to reach the foot controls!!!! So it was back to my second choice of career an interior designer. After all I love messing about with wood, paint and glue especially after watching so many episodes of "60 minute Makeover". Shirley said it would be a good idea for me to start with a project of my own to make sure I really wanted to go down that career path. So I watched a few more episodes of "60 minute Makeover" to get some ideas.

I was in for a real surprise. They were making over a little girls bedroom on an Alice in Wonderland theme and for the pelmet decorations they used Croquet mallets and Hedghogs and who should be up there was my mate Hedgie and his mum I had been wondering what he had been up to since I last saw him.
After a lot of thinking and planning I decided to convert the cold frame in the Shirley’s garden into a cottage for Pip, Candy and me to live in. It is lovely living in the same house as Colin and Shirley but sometimes I feel that they get fed up with us and the mess we make. The conversion involved a lot of measuring, wood cutting and climbing up ladders.

I had just got up to the roof when ‘CRASH’ the ladder slipped and I ended up on the ground.

The next thing I know I am waking up in hospital with a very sore head with a big bandage wrapped around it!

I was in hospital for a few days but I am now home again and even though my head still aches a bit I am feeling a lot better. Of course it means that all my building plans have been put on hold for now as Pip as told me I am not to go up any ladders for quite some time.
Sitting here reading books with Candy I must admit I agree with Pip.
